A free community event presented in partnership with Dance Resource Center, Dexter Story, dublab, Arts for LA, LAUSD and LA Commons.

Join us from 4pm – 8pm for a free one-day festivity showcasing the discovery and love of vinyl records and features more than a dozen vendors selling records from a variety of music genres, art-making, interactive activities, dance performances, live DJs and an open dance floor!

Catch an interactive dance performance with Whacking Los Angeles, a community organization dedicated to preserving and advancing the legacy of Punking and Whacking through dance education, events, and nurturing spaces. Watch the company perform, and then hop on to the dance floor to learn some punking and whacking moves. Hosted by Dance Resource Center.

BlakTinx Dance Festival: Gather & Toast

Join BlakTinx, Dance Resource Center (DRC), and LWDT Saturday, March 30th from 6:30-7pm to Celebrate and Toast LA’s Diverse and Vibrant Dance Community & Leimert Park Artists!

BlakTinx’s 2024 Dance Festival, Kaleidoscope Dream, brings together immensely talented Black and Latinx dancers/choreographers of Los Angeles drawing from all genres, including contemporary, tap, traditional West African, hip hop and fusion. It’s an hour and half of electrifying dance and a reflection of the lustrous tapestry of color, age, gender and artistic disciplines that make LA a truly great dance city!

In this interactive workshop, we will explore common causes of dance injuries, plus share tools and strategies for how to prevent and manage injuries if they occur.

CalPayArt Webinar

Californians for the Arts, through the California Arts Council, has secured a state grant to build a nonprofit paymaster service for small theaters, symphonies, ballets, operas, chorales, dance companies, music organizations and other performing arts organizations throughout CA.

CalPayArt is a mission driven nonprofit paymaster service program specifically designed to support payroll compliance and lower insurance and unemployment coverage costs for small nonprofit performing arts organizations in California.

Conscious Creativity & The Dancer’s Body

This workshop will explore the biological underpinnings of creativity, how it affects our emotions & whole body health, and how emotions express through the fascial system affecting movement. Join us for an interactive session including both theory & practical strategies.

Creativity – Nature or Nurture? 

An exploration of the anatomical, biological, & behavioral influences on the development of creativity.

Anxiety, Depression, & Physical Symptoms

An exploration of the connections between the creative mind, disordered mood, & the expression of physical symptoms.

Emotions & the Dancer’s Body

How emotions express through the fascial system, how we can use this system to better understand & release blockages while reducing injury risk.

A practical exploration of tools & strategies to manage the creative mind, our emotions, & whole body health.

Join us for a conversation on how to align your creative soul, purpose, experience, and skillset with a meaningful and fulfilling journey as an artist.

Experience a conscious movement practice designed to guide you towards a deeper understanding of self, exploring how our emotions express physically in the body, and learning techniques for dynamically balanced wellbeing.

The CA Nonprofit Performing Arts Grant Program Info Webinar

The application for the California Nonprofit Performing Arts Grant opens on July 13th at 9am. www.CANonprofitPerformingArts.com

The program includes $49,500,000.00 to be allocated to eligible nonprofit performing arts organizations that meet the criteria. These grants will be awarded on a first-come-first-served basis in specified amounts depending on the applicant’s annual gross revenue in the 2019 taxable year.

Days of Dancer Health – 2022

This year, DRC’s Days of Dancer Health will bring our community together to discuss how to address genuine evolution in our sector, and to inspire new ways of thinking to create a healthy performing and administrative paradigm in the world of dance and the arts.

Join us Monday April 4th, Tuesday April 5th, and Wednesday 6th from 11:30am-12:30pm PST for enlightening conversation on how each of us can have power over our own paths and the sector we all love. Please join for all 3 virtual meetings. Final day is a Q&A, mixer and resource sharing opportunity.

AAPI members of the LA dance community and allies gathering

AAPI members of the LA dance community and allies gathered on Thursday, April 8th in collaboration with FARconnector and DRC to:
– create an affinity space for AAPI creators to release the trauma from the anti-Asian violence
– make space to reflect and share
– strengthen the community bonds necessary for our own reliance.

The Teahouse was led by Final Bow for Yellowface co-founders Phil Chan and Georgina Pazcoguin, and will include a movement meditation led by Mary Suk.
