Join DRC Executive Director Raélle Dorfan and Director of Business Development Gina Baffo to get your questions answered regarding the business of dance art making: fiscal sponsorship, staffing resources, arts marketing, DRC’s new HomeGrown residency, touring and more. Raélle Dorfan
Born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa, Raélle studied various forms of dance and Musical Theater before immigrating to California, where she went on to graduate Summa Cum Laude from the UCLA World Arts and Cultures/Dance program. Raélle has been dance instructor/choreographer at Le Lycée Français de Los Angeles for almost a decade and prior to her new role at the DRC, Raélle was Associate to the Director at Cadence Arts Network, Manager for Pentacle programs in LA and was Education Director at the Torrance Cultural Arts Center. Raélle has performed at some of California’s most prestigious venues with Pacifico Dance Company and Fusion Dance Theater and serves on the board for Fusion Performing Dance Academy. Adept and most comfortable in the dance/music studio and on the stage, Raélle is dedicated to the performing arts and delighted to be part of the DRC team and community!
Gina Baffo
A results-driven outreach, community relations and integrated marketer with a penchant for serving dance non-profits, Gina has been serving the LA dance community for the past 10 years. She received a B.A. in Communication Studies from UC Santa Barbara while studying ballet. After directing brand and digital strategies for corporate entities ranging from Jaguar to Westin Hotels of Hawaii, she has had the pleasure of leveraging her business acumen to advance the positions of dance companies in LA. Her work is marked by building results through engagement, partnerships, audience development and integrated initiatives that promote the dance field in Southern California. Gina’s outreach work intersects the distinctive spirit of the region with choreographers and company works to drive accessibility and broader audiences. She is honored to join the DRC team to support and direct programming for the LA dance community.
