The Western Arts Alliance (WAA) is only one week away! This is a chance to meet an array of presenters from the 13 western states.
As you may be aware, the DRC will have a booth at the WAA booking conference in Century City from August 27-30th. Additionally, we are sponsoring two curated performances of Los Angeles Dance Companies, one at the Moss Theater (Tues. Aug. 27th), and another at the Los Angeles Ballet Center (Wed, Aug. 28th).
Interested in attending WAA? Here are some great opportunities for DRC members:
-As a DRC member, you can purchase a “total conference artist pass” for $200 (a $650 value for non-members of WAA).
-As a DRC member, you can purchase a “1 day conference artist pass” for $100 (not offered to non-members of WAA).
-As a DRC member, you can submit 1 postcard, flyer or business card, a maximum of 25 copies, to be displayed at the DRC booth (#269).
Want to be more involved with the conference? As a member of DRC, you can volunteer in the following ways:
-If you have purchased a conference pass, you can volunteer to sit behind the booth. This is a great way to interact with artists and presenters alike.
-If you do not have a pass, you can still volunteer to help with the free showcase shuttle service. The DRC will be offering transportation to both showcase venues, and needs assistance at both the pick-up and drop-off points (either at the Hyatt Hotel conference location or at Moss Theater/LA Ballet Center).
-You can also volunteer at the theaters to help with the showcase performances. Shifts will be staggered, so volunteers can see approximately half of the program. This is an opportunity to see the performances free of charge. For the Moss performance, this is a $15 value. The LA Ballet Center Showcase is a closed performance, open toWAA presenters only.

Don’t let this rare opportunity pass you by! It will be years before WAA returns to Southern California.
