Dance from the inside-out in a week of Workshops - Performances - Panel Discussions focusing on BioDiversity. WORKSHOP SESSIONS will utilize anatomical information, movement explorations, and corrective exercises centered on areas of the body in relationship to creativity, place, and environment. In 30 diverse dance and somatic events, participants will learn about their own way of moving and patterns that hold them back, the way body imbalances present themselves to our situation, and an understanding of how to integrate new movement and self-care methods into their daily personal practice. Incorporating renowned Somatic Movement practices of Authentic Movement, Continuum, Feldenkrais, Body-Mind Centering, Contact Improvisation, and more, - each session creates a regenerative context allowing us to experience the transformative and artful nature of our own physiology. We come away able to navigate dance and life with greater freedom, resilience, and effectiveness. There’s a flow of intelligence from the natural world through our senses and tissues. Instead of living “on the surface.” Infused with somatic embodiment practices, we can know ourselves as part of nature’s body.
Experience body-mind practices with Somatic Movement and Dance experts in 30 workshops that enhance movement, physical capacity, and art making. Learn tools to foster self-discovery, deepen presence, prevent injury, enhance sensory awareness, develop refined articulation and fluid strength. Now in its 11th year, this pioneering event offers Feldenkrais, Authentic Movement, Yoga, Sound-Body-Storytelling, Continuum Movement, Body-Mind Centering, Tamalpa Life-Art Process, Contact Improvisation, LiquidBody Dance, and more! Daily sessions will incorporate movement, breath and sound practices, and embodiment exercises creating a regenerative context allowing us to experience the transformative and artful nature of our own physiology. You’ll come away able to navigate dance and live with greater freedom, resilience, and effectiveness.
