Under the general supervision of the Director of Marketing & Communications (DMC), the Communications Manager develops, manages, and executes comprehensive communication strategy and campaigns for Center for the Art of Performance (CAP) at UCLA.
Major functions include the strategic and creative positioning of CAP UCLA in local, national, and international media including securing coverage for all CAP UCLA events; writing press releases and media advisories; acting as the program spokesperson; and serving as CAP UCLA's representative at performances, fundraising, and campus events. Serve as a primary publicity liaison to media, artists, artist representatives and the general public. Provide expert communications counsel and report to CAP UCLA Senior Management and staff as needed. Work on evening/weekend events as needed.
