Flamenco and contemporary modern Dance and Music Company Mojácar Flamenco will audition dancers for their upcoming performance of "Nana del Caballo Grande," a new work based on the lullaby by Federico García Lorca, telling a tale of the profound healing power of love, to be presented at ARC Pasadena in April/May 2016, dates to be confirmed.
DANCERS: We seek 6 to 8 modern dancers with advanced or professional dance training in Limon, Graham, Cunningham or any similar modern dance style.
Ballet, Classical Spanish and flamenco dance training are welcome, but not essential. Modern dancers will incorporate some Spanish dance upper body work in the piece.
SOLOIST: We seek a male flamenco dancer with advanced or professional flamenco dance training. Modern dance, Classical Spanish dance and ballet training are welcome, but not essential. If you are a professional ballet or modern dancer, you are also welcome at this audition.
Audition date: Saturday, January 16th
Time: 3:45pm sharp
Audition location: Auditions take place at Pointe by Pointe Dance Studio, 1315 Fair Oaks Avenue, Suite 104, South Pasadena, CA 91030.
There is no fee for the audition. Please come prepared to dance. Modern dancers may dance barefoot or with jazz, flat heeled shoes.
Rehearsals will begin in mid-January, exact days to be arranged according to scheduling. Possible rehearsal days include Monday, Tuesday or Thursday evenings, and/or Saturday and Sunday afternoons. There is excellent rehearsal and performance pay for this project.
